Gmail email And Joining The Forum !

Unfortunately due to the high volume of spammers and undesirables who use Gmail to cause a nuisance worldwide on the web I am always very cautious when authorising new members using Gmail to sign up to the forum, this is as much for everyones protection as well as mine.

Please do NOT use a Gmail email address to sign up to the forum as your account will be rejected

At the moment the forum server does not like gmail which causes issues for PM notifications and email correspondance for known members already using Gmail due to gmail appearing as an anonymous entity

This request will also be written into the sign up agreement for the forum

Gmail is OK so long as I know who it is

But users who are registered with a Gmail address are currently experiencing issues when it comes to receiving PM notifications and emails from the forum.

So for example a guy wants to make a booking enquiry via pm or email to a service provider on the forum. The service provider will not receive the pm notification or email  = the guy enquiring may think you are ignoring them = not good

This issue is being looked into 

However overall anyone signing up with a Gmail email address will be rejected unless I know they are bona fide

Gmail indescriminately block certain email addresses, can be hotmail one minute then anything 'adulty' the next. They say it's to prevent spam, all it does is create problems for those genuine email senders. AOL have sometimes done the same thing in the past, and blocking "hotmail" domains meant a couple of guys making booking requests, didn't get my replies. Caused me some trouble including one chap losing his booking. And yes lots of spam is actually via Gmail nowadays.
